Yaya Toure confident despite Colombia setback

Following Ivory Coast's 2-1 defeat to Colombia in Brazilia on Thursday, in their 2014 World Cup’s second encounter in Group C, Ivoirian playmaker Yaya Touré believes that they shouldn’t worry too much.

The Elephants conceded two goals within seven minutes half-way through the second half by James Rodriguez and Juan Quintero, before narrowing the gap following a superb solo effort from Gervinho less than five minutes later.

“We should not give in to discouragement. That is also what football is about. Today things didn’t go our way, but the qualification is not compromised,” Yaya assured after the match.

“We are going to get back to work, approach in the best possible way our game against Greece and qualify for the knock-out stage.”

Côte d’Ivoire are now trailing Group leaders Colombia by three points, and will try to book their ticket for the next round when they face Greece in Fortaleza on June 24.

“We are going to head back to Sao Paulo and get ready for the next game. To qualify, we must beat Greece, there are no two ways about it,” coach Sabri Lamouchi said in his press conference.
