Fulham move to top of Seri chase

Premier League newcomers Fulham have reportedly beaten Chelsea and Arsenal to sign Jean-Michael Seri from Nice in a surprise move.

The midfielder was spotted in London two days ago as he looked to finalise a transfer to the Premier League.

But Sky Sport in Italy claims the newly-promoted Cottagers have pulled off the coup to land the star.

And the reports states Fulham's outlay for Seri will be £17.7million.

Seri has long been linked with a switch to England, with Chelsea believed to be frontrunners for his signature.

Arsenal had also been keeping an eye on the Ivory Coast international.

However, it now looks like Slavisa Jokanovic has usurped both the big guns.

Seri was the standout performer at Nice last season, producing seven goals and nine assists as he helped his side to seal a place in the Champions League play-offs.

Barcelona almost completed a transfer to sign him 12 months ago.

But a potential switch to the Nou Camp fell through at the last minute as the Catalans opted to move for Paulinho instead - but Seri soon got over his disappointment and returned to top form to earn his big move to the Prem.
