Final Naby Keita fee set for Liverpool

Liverpool will pay around £52.75million for Naby Keita after RB Leipzig qualified for the Europa League.

The Guinea international signed off in style as he played the opening 76 minutes of their 6-2 demolition of Hertha Berlin on the final day of the Bundesliga season.

Under the terms of the deal Liverpool struck last summer, the fee was dependent on Leipzig’s finishing position .

If they had ended up seventh or below, Keita would have cost Liverpool £48million. If Leipzig had forced their way into the Champions League spots the fee would have climbed to £59million.

However, their sixth placed finish, which secured a Europa League spot, means that the Reds will have to shell out £52.75million.
